Terry Vernixx & Darrin Kobetich – “Nimbus” (2023)

After 4 months off from this blog, I am back to writing again. It’s been quite a busy Summer, culminating in a new career path, a move to North Austin, as well as a new EP release with my pal, Darrin Kobetich. This time around after our initial recordings were complete, we handed it all off to Tom Krizic for a full mix and mastering treatment. We stepped a little outside our comfort zones, forging a very idful album of ambient rolling drifting psychedelia without knowing how the final product would end up sounding. Tom did an amazing job of taking the original improvisations and compiling them into a cohesive flow. The results are three improvised bursts of pulsing percussion, Eastern instrumentation, deep oceans of dirge, and backwards Kurzweil patches galore. Enjoy!
